We all know the old adage, “Take one step back to take two steps forward,” and blah blah blah whatever. It’s true, but it’s so hard to remember when you’re in it.
This is an episode for when you’re in it.
Maybe life Charlie Horsed you and you’re forced into this slow down. Maybe you got stuck, and had to make a tough decision that feels like a giant step in the complete wrong direction, and you don’t know how you ended up here. But what if it’s only a step (or seven) away from your expectations of where you thought you were heading, when you could actually be heading somewhere even better.
Again, it’s hard to trust that’s true when you’re “in it,” and it feels like you’ve been “in it” for a while, and you’ll always be “in it.”
In this episode, my friend Dina talks about making the tough decision to move back in with her parents when she and her boyfriend found themselves in some thick debt. You’ll hear how she handled it (spoiler alert: regressing to her 13-year-old self), what happened when she shifted her mindset, and what she thinks of a step back now.
